Electric floor

Components of an electric underfloor heating system
Heating mats and cables.
The entire branched system is based on the principle of constructing cables using a two-core shielded pattern. This ensures maximum protection from electromagnetic fields for users. The mat has a thickness of 3.5 mm. It is buried in a layer of tile adhesive or a specially created thin screed. The mats are equipped with a self-adhesive backing. Thermostats. There are standard and more advanced models in which thermostats can be adjusted both by the insulation of the floor and by the temperature of the air masses in the room. Sometimes it is possible to set special heating modes, in which the temperature is adjusted depending on a specific time or date.
Warm floors from Rehau are suitable for almost any surface

- Socket box for installing a thermostat.
- A protective tube with an aluminum tip for installing a special sensor that constantly detects the temperature of the coating. - The cables are equipped with Teflon coating and additionally have Kelaur reinforcement. These elements are mechanically strong and can withstand the highest possible temperatures for a long time. This factor is of particular importance for system elements, the removal of which presents certain difficulties, which does not allow for their timely repair.
- When purchasing an electric underfloor heating system, the client receives separate heating cables and special mats. These elements are small in thickness, so they practically do not change the overall height of the room after the renovation is completed.

This is a favorable solution for underfloor heating, which can make the atmosphere in the room more favorable. The design of the heating system pipes allows them to be quickly and easily placed in the floor, without damaging or changing the interior.
When the system operates, constant and soft heat is supplied, which allows for a moderate temperature in the entire room, without creating a contrast between the heating of the floor covering and the environment. A water heated floor is also useful in the summer, as it can be used to lightly cool the room. A smooth transition of the overall temperature down several degrees is ensured, without the appearance of drafts or pockets of sudden cooling. This procedure is carried out practically free of charge, since the system in this case works very economically.
The water heated floor is constructed with REHAU RAUTHERM S pipes. They have a characteristic red color and are designed specifically for organizing heated floors. These pipes have an important difference from others, as they are equipped with an internal self-supporting coating mounted from PE-Xa polyethylene film.
An interesting option for how to arrange a collector
This layer is sufficient to guarantee high structural strength and resistance to any temperature. The system allows heating up to 90 degrees and an internal pressure of no more than 6 bar.

- Installation takes 4 times less time than when laying heated water floors from other companies. This effect is achieved through the use of special mats with REHAU Varionova fasteners. This allows you to install REHAU RAUTHERM S pipes reliably and economically.
- The floor is constructed from special blocks with standard parameters. They are installed layer-by-layer along the fixation line and secured using the snap-in method.
- The cost-effectiveness of the coating is manifested due to the complete absence of material waste, since each subsequent row is a continuation of the previous one.
Rehau pipes
The main link of the heating complex is RAUTHERM pipes.
For their production, cross-linked polyethylene of increased strength is used. In order to block the access of oxygen as much as possible, an ethylene vinyl alcohol layer is provided in their walls, which performs a protective function. Separate sections of the pipeline are connected to each other using the sleeve method using sliding sleeves, couplings, etc., which are equipped with rehau underfloor heating pipes.
Depending on the required power indicators, pipes of different diameters are installed. The company's product range includes products with an internal cross-section from 10 to 25 mm.

Installation of a warm water floor
The work of assembling a heated coating is quite complex and requires a professional, scrupulous approach:
- Installation with a screed is considered the most suitable type, where a concrete screed 3–5 cm thick is poured over a layer of pipes, depending on the base, maximum load, and finishing coating.
- Laying in polystyrene foam. Several slots are made in it for channels, pipes are laid and, after installing them in a certain place, they are filled with concrete.
- Installation in rooms with wooden flooring. Boards are laid over the subfloor area, forming a channel for laying the pipe, which is then covered with a final, durable material.
Fasteners
To secure the pipeline transporting the coolant, fastening systems are used. There are several such products.
Varionova fixing mats
The rigid polymer material from which they are made provides the mats with excellent mechanical stability. For example, they are able to withstand the load from the weight of an adult man, even if the top layer of the screed has not yet been poured. They provide greater speed of installation of Rehau floors compared to models from other manufacturers. Each product is equipped with clips designed for installation over pipes. Mats can be cut along special lines into individual fragments. They are then joined together using connecting elements. Pipes ø 14–17 mm are laid with a minimum step of 5 cm.
Specifications:
- The thickness of the coating is 2 mm; it is possible to choose products with or without a thermal insulating foam backing.
- Designed for laying pipelines with a diameter of 14 to 17 mm.
- The minimum laying step is 5 cm.
- To optimize installation, the surface of the mats has cutting lines and connecting elements for joining individual parts to each other.
RAUFIX tires
This is the best way to install an inexpensive heated floor. Tires made of rigid polypropylene, thanks to special brackets on the underside, are attached to almost any base. Such products have a small thickness, which is why the floor height increases by only 5 mm. The installation of the main line is carried out in increments of multiples of 5 cm. The tires are 1 meter long and 4 or 5 cm wide. The tires must be mounted on top of the thermal insulation layer.

QUATTRO rotary clips provide reliable fastening of pipes on the reinforcing mesh by pressing the hooks located on the back of the clip to the wire. Thanks to the pipe clamps on the top surface of the clip, they are easily attached and at the same time securely fixed. The QUATTRO swivel clip can be rotated in two directions for fixation: - with the base transverse to the direction of the pipe: fastening a pipe with an outer diameter of 14–17 mm; — base in the direction of the pipe: fastening a pipe with an outer diameter of 20 mm. The QUATTRO swivel clip can be installed both at the intersection of the wire and at the straight section of the wire. For pipes with an outer diameter of 14–17 mm, the laying pitch is not related to the raster of the reinforcement mesh. The QUATTRO swivel clip covers a wide range of usable pipe diameters and installation pitches using the same clip. The clip attachment device uses magazine clips for quick installation. The QUATTRO swivel clip is installed on the fitting with a rotational movement. The reinforcing mesh is used to fix QUATTRO rotary clips with the calculated laying step. Reinforcing mesh RM 100 with a grid of 100 mm and edge cells of 50 mm on each side must be laid with an overlap. A protective film made of durable PE protects against the penetration of barrier water into the joints of thermal insulation and prevents the formation of heat and sound bridges. REHAU protective film does not replace the necessary vapor barrier. The harpoon bracket protects the reinforcing mesh for fastening pipes from floating when using liquid screeds.

The use of ordinary steel construction mats and reinforcement mesh is acceptable for REHAU underfloor heating/cooling systems as well as snow melting and outdoor area heating systems.
1. Place the REHAU distribution cabinet. 2. Install the REHAU distribution manifold. 3. Fix REHAU wall insulation.
4. Install additional REHAU thermal insulation, if necessary. 5. Lay the REHAU protective film with a minimum overlap of 8 cm. 6. Completely seal the overlaps of the REHAU protective film with REHAU adhesive tape. Damage to REHAU film impairs its protective properties. Large holes or cuts in the REHAU protective film must be completely sealed with REHAU adhesive tape. 7. Glue the self-adhesive film apron of wall thermal insulation onto the protective film. 8. Lay the reinforcing mesh close to the wall insulation. 9. Lay the reinforcing mesh overlapping and twist the outer wires of adjacent mats with REHAU wire binding. When using liquid screeds, reinforcement mesh mats with pipes may float. The reinforcement mesh mats must be secured with REHAU dowels. In areas of expansion joints passing through the floor structure, the reinforcement mesh mats must be separated. 10. Install REHAU rotary clips using the REHAU rod on the reinforcement mesh mats in accordance with the laying plan. In this case, you should pay attention to the following: - Direction of installation of the rotary clip: - the installation step of the rotary clips on straight sections of pipes should be approximately 50 cm. When using liquid screeds, a smaller distance is required to prevent the pipes from floating; — at pipe bends, rotary clips must be installed at the intersection of the reinforcing wires; - it is necessary to take into account the minimum bending radius for each pipe used. Control elements
The main control device of the set is the comb. Rehau offers the consumer several modifications of the distribution manifold. The best option is a comb assembly, which includes a thermostat and a flow meter installed, respectively, on the inlet and outlet manifold. There are, of course, other options, since you can connect a water heated floor through a pumping and mixing unit. In this case, the components, say, a circular pump, are purchased separately.
ADDITIONAL REHAU ELEMENTS FOR WARM FLOOR
