Distinctive features of Danko gas boilers

The Danko company positions itself as a manufacturer of high-quality gas boilers at an affordable cost. Since cast iron is a reliable and durable material, Ukrainian manufacturers decided to place parts and components made using modern technology into a regular cast iron body. Thanks to this, the Danko gas boiler has a long service life. The unit can serve properly for 25 years. And this is 10 years longer than its steel counterparts.

In addition, the price of Danko gas boilers is very affordable. The unit can be purchased for only 10,000-15,000 rubles. Ukrainian manufacturers are constantly working to improve the quality and appearance of their products.

Thanks to its attractive design and reduced dimensions, the device fits perfectly into any room interior.

It is also worth noting that reviews of Danko gas heating boilers are mostly positive. Many users note such an advantage as the ability to combine Danko boilers with cast iron batteries.

Therefore, if the old batteries are in good condition, then there is no need to change them. To produce boilers, Danko uses only modern equipment from Denmark, Finland and Japan. All models are equipped with an independent temperature control system and equipped with safety devices. There are a lot of people who want to buy a Danko gas boiler. And these are not only residents of Ukraine. The products are also very popular in the CIS countries.

Additional systems

In the design of gas heaters, the manufacturer has additionally provided:

  • water temperature sensors - triggered when boiling, turning off the system;
  • a protective block that shuts off the gas supply when the wick goes out;
  • a block that stops equipment operation in the absence of traction;
  • draft control unit - to adjust the flame;
  • multifaceted protection unit – turns off the device in case of any type of threat;
  • intelligent block - for distributing liquid flows.

Basic inclusion rules

Correct activation of the device must first of all comply with safety regulations. They are the same for both Danko and Conord:

  • children cannot be trusted to turn on the boiler;
  • It is prohibited to ignite devices whose automation does not work or does not work correctly;
  • if you suspect a leak, do not try to ignite the unit or check the leak location with fire;
  • You cannot light the burner without draft in the chimney;
  • it is forbidden to turn on the heating without water inside the system;
  • When igniting and subsequent operation of the boiler, it is prohibited to keep flammable objects nearby;
  • The water temperature in the system during operation should not be higher than 90°C.

Installation

It is necessary to take into account the rules for installing gas equipment:

  • The power is selected according to the heating.
  • There must be at least 25 cm between the housing installed on a fire-resistant horizontal platform and a non-combustible wall.
  • The device can be installed near fire-resistant walls if they are sheathed with steel sheets.
  • The width of the passage in front of the facade is from 1 m.
  • To improve water circulation, the installation should be lower than the level of heating devices.
  • The expansion tank is located at the very top of the system.
  • The minimum length of the chimney is 5 m.
  • If the chimney is located outside, it must be insulated.
  • The diameter of the smoke outlet must exceed the diameter of the smoke outlet pipe.
  • At the junction of the boiler and the chimney, it is necessary to seal it with a solution of cement or clay.

Operation and Maintenance

Commissioning is possible after acceptance by representatives of the gas service. An installation diagram is attached to the instructions. Installation is quite simple, but it is better to trust it to specialists. Gas workers who take the device into operation provide appropriate instructions. The modification is selected according to the project completed by the gas service, which necessarily notes the power of the device and its type. Safety regulations:

  • Maintenance of the device can be performed by those who have attended the instructions.
  • In the event of a breakdown, immediately turn off the taps.
  • If you smell gas, turn off the valve, open the windows and call the gas workers.
  • Keep the device clean and in good working order.
  • Clean the chimney as often as indicated in the instructions.
  • Check the fullness of the system weekly to see if there is water in the expansion tank.
  • At the end of the service life of the device provided by the manufacturer, invite a specialist for advice on whether it can continue to be used.

Basic malfunctions, why does the boiler go out?

The main malfunction of the Danko floor-standing gas boiler is spontaneous extinguishing of the burner.

It can be caused by various reasons:

  • Stopping the gas supply (in the main line, or simply forgot to open the gas tap on the boiler itself).
  • There were problems with gas equipment - breakdown of automation, failure of the gas valve, other problems.
  • Reverse draft in the chimney, strong wind or drafts inside the room.

If the gas supply is interrupted, you should contact the gas service and obtain the necessary information. If problems arise with gas equipment, you must call a technician from a service center who is authorized to perform such work.

Dealing with drafts or backdrafts is more difficult, since they are often caused by external reasons that cannot be influenced. In any case, it is necessary to ensure high-quality and stable air exchange in the room, to eliminate drafts and sudden changes in the direction of air flows.

It is also necessary to monitor the condition of the chimney and promptly clean it from soot and soot.

What problems happen?

The simplicity of Danko's design allows its owners to carry out minor repair work on their own. One of the most common problems is the burner blowing out. This is especially common in strong winds. Usually no fault is found, the wind is the culprit of the problem, but it is better to check the following points:

  • Is there a check valve installed in the chimney? If not, then there will be no reverse thrust, which is why attenuation occurs.
  • If the chimney is installed incorrectly, it becomes clogged with soot and other combustion products - it needs to be cleaned.

It happens that before the attenuation, extraneous noise is heard or increased fuel consumption is observed - this may indicate a failure of the controller. The task is to repair or replace a spare part.

Important! If you don’t want to deal with flame extinction, choose not a single-circuit, but a double-circuit boiler - wall-mounted or floor-standing. 2-circuit models do not have such disadvantages.

Another common problem is the pilot light going out. It goes out due to the activation of the thermostat, which shuts off the gas supply if the burner does not heat up to the desired temperature.

User manual

The boiler operates automatically. The user is only required to maintain the cleanliness of the body, fill and drain water from the system and start the boiler when necessary.

Temperature adjustment is carried out in operating mode, according to the user’s own feelings. The boiler is started either using a piezo ignition system or manually using the principle of a gas stove. To turn on the boiler using piezo ignition, you need to turn the knob to the ignition position.

The thermostat knob must be turned until it aligns with the “asterisk” icon and at the same time pressed in all the way.

Press the piezo ignition button several times to light the burner, but hold the thermostat knob for another 10-15 seconds . If the attempt is unsuccessful, repeat the procedure.

To service and repair the boiler, you should call a technician from the service center. Independent tampering with the structure will automatically void the warranty agreement.

Types of gas boilers

With open combustion chamber

Boilers with an open combustion chamber use air that comes directly from the room with the equipment located there to maintain the fire. Discharge is carried out using natural draft through the chimney.

Since a device of this type burns a lot of oxygen, it is installed in a non-residential, specially adapted room with 3 times air exchange.

These devices are absolutely not suitable for apartments in multi-storey buildings, since ventilation wells cannot be used as chimneys.

Advantages:

  • simplicity of design and, as a result, low cost of repairs;
  • no noise during operation;
  • a wide range of;
  • relatively low cost.

Flaws:

  • the need for a separate room and chimney;
  • unsuitable for apartments.

With a closed combustion chamber

For units with a closed firebox, there is no need for a specially equipped room, since their chamber is sealed and does not directly contact the internal air space.

Instead of a classic chimney, a horizontal coaxial chimney is used, which is a pipe in a pipe - one end of this product is attached to the top of the device, the other goes out through the wall to the street. Such a chimney works simply: air is supplied through the external cavity of the two-pipe product, and exhaust gas is removed through the internal hole using an electric fan.

This device can be installed both in apartments and houses, and in any room convenient for use.

Advantages:

  • no need for a special room;
  • operational safety;
  • relatively high environmental friendliness;
  • easy installation;
  • ease of use.

Flaws:

  • dependence on electricity;
  • high noise level;
  • High price.

Single-circuit

A single-circuit boiler is a classic heating device with a local purpose: preparing coolant for the heating system.

Its main feature is that the design, among many elements, provides only 2 tubes: one for the entry of cold liquid, the other for the exit of already heated liquid. The composition also includes 1 heat exchanger, which is natural, a burner and a pump that pumps coolant - in the case of natural circulation, the latter may be absent.

When installing DHW, an indirect heating boiler is connected to the CO system - taking into account the possibility of this prospect, manufacturers manufacture boilers compatible with this storage device.

Advantages:

  • relatively low fuel consumption;
  • simplicity in design, maintenance and repair;
  • the possibility of creating domestic hot water using an indirect heating boiler;
  • acceptable price.

Flaws:

  • used only for heating;
  • For a set with a separate boiler, a special room is desirable.
