This model is produced only in a dual-circuit version, available with a maximum net power of 11 kW and 23 kW.
Boilers with a closed combustion chamber are designated 11 MTV and 23 MTV. The numbers indicate power, and the symbol “T” means turbo boiler. Devices with an open chamber (atmospheric) are designated 11 MOV AND 23 MOV, depending on the power, with a chimney diameter of 126 mm. The Gepard 11 MTV and 11 MOV boiler is capable of heating a residential building with an area of up to 100 m2, 23 kW boilers - up to 220 m2.

Their hot water output is the same: 11 liters per minute. I am especially pleased with such good DHW performance in the low-power models 11 MTV and MOV, because you don’t have to buy a higher-power boiler just because you have a normal hot water supply at home.

The volume of the membrane expansion tank is small compared to other models, only 5 liters. This is a disadvantage, because if the volume of coolant in the heating system exceeds 50-70 liters, then it will be necessary to purchase one additional tank and install it in the system.

Features of Proterm gas boilers of the Panther series
Unlike the Gepard models, boilers in this series are available in both double-circuit and single-circuit. Panther boilers are also presented in a wider range of models, with a power from 12 to 35 kW.

Panther double-circuit gas boilers have a power of 25, 30 and 35 kW, and are designated by the symbols 25, -30 or 35 KTV - with a closed combustion chamber, and 25, -30 KOV - with an open chamber, the chimney diameter of which is 135 mm.

Due to the greater useful power than the Cheetah, the productivity of the DHW circuit is also slightly higher - 12 l/min, and the 30 and 35 kW models will give up to 14 l/min.

The volume of the expansion tank here is 10 liters, which is twice the volume of the tank in the Gepard series boilers, and the LCD display on the control panel is slightly larger than that of the Gepard produced before 2017.

Proterm Panther: technical characteristics
Single-circuit gas boilers “Proterm Panther” can be found, both turbocharged and atmospheric (natural draft).
They are produced with a power of 12 and 25 kW, capable of heating a room from 50 to 240 m2. They are designated: 12 and 25 KTO - with an open combustion chamber and 25 KOO - with a closed one. Single-circuit models have the ability to connect an external indirect water heating boiler and control it directly from the gas boiler panel.

Features of Protherm Jaguar 24 JTV boilers

This is the most budget model in the line of boilers from Protherm. Only one model is produced, this is the Protherm Jaguar 24 kW series - a double-circuit gas boiler with a closed chamber (forced draft), the device is capable of heating a house up to 220-240 m2. Less popular models are 11 and 28 kW.

The performance of the DHW circuit is 10.7 l/min. Unlike other boiler models of this brand, it does not have a “winter-summer” mode. Proterm boilers of the Jaguar series are now assembled in Turkey, and not in Slovakia, like all other models.

The operation of the boiler is controlled not with buttons, as on the same Panther or Cheetah, but with the help of two knobs that regulate the temperature of the coolant, respectively, in the heating system and the hot water circuit. Another small nuance is that the fitting for connecting the gas hose on this boiler has a diameter of 3/4, but on all other models it is either 3/4 or 1/2 inches.

The main feature of this boiler is the presence of a built-in storage boiler for heating water for household needs with a volume of 45 liters. The operation of the boiler is controlled using an informative timer located on the front panel of the boiler body.

This model has a power of 11 kW, the water productivity in the boiler is 12.6 l/min. It is produced only with a closed combustion chamber, has 2 expansion tanks and is designated as 12KTZ.

Advantages of Proterm wall-mounted gas boilers

Disadvantages of Protherm gas boilers

— warranty obligations are respected only if the boiler is started by gas workers who have not just a license to install gas equipment, but also a special certificate from the Protherm company;

— There are frequent interruptions in the supply of spare parts.

So, today we looked at the entire range of Proterm wall-mounted gas boilers: Cheetah, Panther, Jaguar and Tiger. We analyzed their technical characteristics, device and made our own subjective review of them. Generally, gas boilers Proterm - This is a fairly high-quality and relatively inexpensive device. There are some problems with warranty service, but you can take a chance and buy a Proterm boiler, especially since the likelihood of it breaking in the first 2 years of the warranty is quite small. The Gepard boiler has two smoke exhaust modes

The line includes two heater models:

with natural smoke exhaust 23 MOV;
with forced smoke exhaust 23 MTV.

This information about the Proterm Cheetah boiler can be found in the instructions. In units with natural draft, the combustion chamber is open type, that is, not sealed. The air for the flame in such heaters comes from the room in which it is installed (more precisely, hung on the wall, since they are all wall-mounted). This is neither good nor bad. You just need to ventilate the room more often. Such boilers require a stationary chimney. We have already written about how to install a chimney for a gas boiler, so we will not repeat ourselves.

It doesn’t matter if it is not possible to install a stationary chimney, because... for units with forced smoke removal it is not needed (see Chimneyless boilers). Such Gepard boilers are called coaxial. The smoke exits through a coaxial pipe. She is taken outside directly through the wall, which is very convenient. The advantage of a coaxial chimney is that it not only removes smoke, but also supplies oxygen to the combustion chamber. By the way, it is sealed in such units.

The circulation of gases in the coaxial chimney (in both directions) is forced. A fan installed above the combustion chamber is responsible for this. It operates from the network, so such boilers consume more electricity.

The best wall-mounted gas boilers

This section presents single-circuit room heating systems placed on the wall. They are compact and easy to maintain, although they have some limitations in functionality.

Despite the prestige of the brand, the Eco Four model is relatively inexpensive. The boiler has a flat body measuring 730x400x299 mm, which allows it to be hung flush with kitchen cabinets. When used in northern latitudes, such a unit can heat an apartment up to 150 m².

Fourth generation boilers were developed taking into account our operating conditions. That is why the presented model operates even when the inlet gas pressure is reduced to 5 mBar. In addition, it has two separate thermostats: for heating radiators and for the “warm floor” system.

Advantages:

Built-in water flow meter;
Pump with air vent and post-circulation mode;
It is possible to connect to solar collectors;
Dual-mode thermal control;

The boiler dimensions of 800x440x338 mm and a maximum power of 36 kW are more suitable for a private home than for a city apartment. Although in a spacious kitchen there will be no problems with its placement.

Device series

The boilers are presented in two lines - Protherm Capybara Solient Plus and Protherm Beaver DLO.

The first product line represents classic models of solid fuel boilers.

Has features:

power when working on wood can be from 13 to 48 kW, on coal - from 17.5 to 70 kW;
suitable for installation in private homes, dachas, and any other objects;
three-way horizontal circulation of flue gases determines the high efficiency of such installations;
easy maintenance, attractive design;
uniform, rapid heating of the area is observed, without heat loss.

Well-known models of the Protherm Capybara Solient Plus boiler group:

Solient Plus 3. This is a lightweight version of a three-section heat exchange unit. Thermal power when operating on coal is 17 kW, on wood – 13 kW. Heating temperature from 30 to 90 degrees;
Solient Plus 4. Four-section heat exchanger. Thermal power 25 and 17 kW. Temperature range - from 30 to 90 degrees;
Solient Plus 5. Durable unit with five heat exchanger sections. Thermal power 34 and 23 kW. Temperature - from 30 to 90 degrees;

The body of the models is made of cast iron, and the ash pan is made of stainless steel.

Models differ in thermal power, water tank volume, size and price.

They are considered more advanced units due to the presence of:

chimney dampers. It allows you to adjust the draft, change the combustion rate and heat transfer power;
thermal pressure gauge on the front panel;
a special regulator that prevents hot fuel from entering the room;
attractive design. Any model (DLO 20, DLO 30, DLO 40, DLO 50, DLO 60 - they will be described below) will become the highlight of the room.

Classification by installation method

Floor-standing boilers require a separate room with ventilation and a window.
Based on design features, Proterm products are divided into 2 lines: wall-mounted and floor-mounted. Modifications differ not only in the installation method, but also in power, size, and installation requirements.

Wall mounted

Compact wall-mounted models are marked with the names of felines: Cheetah, Lynx, Panther, Tiger, Leopard. They are intended for installation in private houses and apartments. The equipment does not require a separate room. It can be placed in the bathroom or kitchen. Single-circuit and double-circuit models can be supplemented with a boiler. The units are equipped with an expansion tank and have an informative display.
