Roll markings and material composition
Immediately after the name, rolls from TechnoNIKOL use additional markings of one or three letters. They indicate the structure of the material, and this determines what specific tasks this particular type of roofing is suitable for.
So let's decipher them:
- Base: X – fiberglass, T – fiberglass and E – polyester.
- Top protective layer: P – polyethylene film, K – coarse-grained coating and M – fine-grained coating.
- Bottom protective layer: P - polyethylene film, M - fine-grained coating, B - ventilated coating or ventilation ducts, E - polymer non-woven fabric and C - self-adhesive side.
Abbreviated markings are also used:
- P is a built-up roof without protective coating. It is intended to be used as a bottom layer.
- K is a coarse roofing material that has an ultraviolet coating. This is used for arranging the top layer in a multi-layer roofing carpet.
Coating mastics
In addition to roll materials, TechnoNIKOL produces products intended for coating waterproofing of foundations. It is carried out using mastics on various bases:
- polymer;
- bitumen;
- combined.
The main difference during application is the temperature of the working solution. Mastics are used hot or cold.
In the first case, it is more difficult to work because you have to heat the composition to approximately 180 degrees. But in this case, the created protective layer will better fill the cracks, penetrating deeper into the base material.
Cold application mastics can consist of one or two components. They are mixed before working with the activator.
To improve the adhesion of compounds from the foundation, its surface is pre-treated with a special primer - primer.
The following coating waterproofing products from the Technonikol company are in demand among consumers:
- bitumen varnish No. 25 – provides good protection of the base from moisture and is ready to be applied immediately to the work surface, and the created coating is smooth, which minimizes its friction with the adjacent soil;
- AquaMast - this bitumen waterproofing is used cold and is designed to protect structures located underground from water;
- Water-based mastics No. 31 and 33 are intended for spraying, do not contain organic solvents, and are applied with a brush, roller or special mechanized installations;
- MGTN (No. 24) – ready-to-use bitumen mastic containing various additives, a solvent that protects the base from capillary moisture;
- No. 21 is a cold-applied insulation (minimum 2 layers), which has an increased degree of strength due to the presence of a modified rubber additive in the composition;
- MBK-G is a mastic that requires heating before use, hardens quickly, is inexpensive, and is applied with a spatula to a primed surface;
- Primer No. 04 is a bitumen-based emulsion intended for treating bases covered with dust or built from porous materials.
At ambient air temperatures less than +5 degrees, AquaMast mastic is first left for a day in a heated place. The working consumption is 1 kg per square surface.
Mastic No. 24 is applied to a porous surface only after pre-treatment with a primer.
Ready-to-use formulations without preheating facilitate the work process. Using coating mastics, a moisture-proofing coating with identical characteristics is obtained over the entire treated area.
