Neva Lux 5514 - 14 liters of hot water per minute!

Operating rules

For the purpose of safe operation of the equipment, it is prohibited:

  1. Install and connect the device yourself.
  2. The device should not be used by children or persons who have not read the instructions for use.
  3. Use the device if there is no draft in the ventilation duct.
  4. Change the design of the device.
  5. Leave the device turned on unattended.
  6. If there is a possibility that the temperature will drop below 0 degrees, it is necessary to drain the water from the device.
  7. Set the heating temperature too high. This leads to increased noise in the device, and most unpleasantly, to the rapid formation of scale in the heat exchanger.

This in turn leads to a decrease in the efficiency of the device and a decrease in the outgoing water flow. Due to scale formation, do not dilute a hot jet with cold.

  8. When the speaker is operating properly, you should not notice any foreign odors, such as gas or burning. If you notice the smell of gas, immediately turn off the gas valve, open the window and door to ventilate and contact the gas service. It is prohibited to turn on any electrical appliances or light a fire, as even a small spark can cause an explosion.
  9. It is necessary to carry out technological maintenance at least once a year, remove dust and soot from inside the device, check all seams and connections for leaks, and clean the heat exchanger from scale using special anti-scale agents.

According to the operating instructions, batteries of type D, LR20, high-capacity alkaline should be installed on the Neva Lux gas water heater, which will make it possible to increase their service life. Installation is carried out in a special compartment, observing the polarity indicated on the cover.

Geyser NEVA LUX 6011

NEVA LUX 6011 instantaneous water heaters are produced by Gazapparat OJSC (St. Petersburg). The column has an open combustion chamber, power is supplied from a 1.5 V battery. Thermal power is 21 kW, productivity at Δt = 25 °C is 11 l/min. The minimum water pressure for ignition is 0.15 bar.

The device automatically turns on when the hot water tap is opened with a water flow of more than 2.5 l/min. The main burner is ignited by the igniter, after which the igniter goes out. Thanks to the modulating burner, the column maintains the set water temperature when the water flow rate, inlet water temperature and gas pressure change. There is a digital display that displays the temperature of the heated water and the set water temperature; in the event of a malfunction, an error code is displayed. The device has a low battery indicator.

The main components of the NEVA LUX 6011 column are shown in the figure. The water-gas unit 12 is designed to control the gas supply to the main and ignition burners and consists of a water 32 and gas 22 units and a valve block 25. The igniter 3 serves to ignite the main burner 10. The electronic control unit 11 controls the gas supply to the main and ignition burners and their ignition and shutdown. Temperature sensor 4 measures the temperature of the heated water, ionization sensor 8 controls the flame, draft sensor 16 controls the draft, and if this is absent, the gas supply to the burners is turned off. The igniter is ignited by the ignition electrode 9. The battery is installed in the battery compartment 13.

1 – gas exhaust device; 2 – heat exchanger; 3 – ignition burner; 4 – water temperature sensor; 5 – cold water inlet; 6 – gas inlet; 7 – hot water outlet; 8 – ionization electrode; 9 – ignition electrode; 10 – main burner; 11 – electronic control unit; 12 – water-gas unit; 13 – battery compartment: 14 – plug for draining water; 15 – water flow regulator; 16 – traction sensor; 17 – fitting for measuring gas pressure; 18 – membrane of the water unit; 19 – Venturi fitting; 20 – water outlet to the heat exchanger; 21 – water flow sensor (microswitch); 22 - gas unit; 23 – gas valve controlled by a water unit; 24 – gas outlet to the main burner; 25 – valve block; 26 – electromagnetic servo valve (normally open); 27 – igniter solenoid valve (normally closed); 28 – valve block membrane; 29 – two-stage valve of the main burner; 30 gas outlet to the igniter; 31 – water temperature display board; 32 – water unit; 33 – water filter; 34 – gas filter

When water flows through the water unit 32, the membrane rod 18 opens the gas valve 23 and closes the contacts of the microswitch 21. Then the valve 27 opens the gas supply from the above-membrane cavity of the valve block 25 to the igniter 3, from the control unit 11 a high voltage is supplied to the ignition electrode 9. From a spark ignition burner 3 lights up. The presence of a flame on the igniter is determined by ionization electrode 8. Valve 26 closes the gas supply to the membrane cavity, the gas exits through the igniter. The membrane 28 of the valve block opens the gas supply valve 29 to the main burner 10. The main burner ignites, the igniter goes out.

The presence of a flame on the main burner is monitored by an ionization sensor 8. After ignition, the electronic unit 11 compares the water temperature measured by sensor 4 with the set value. If the temperature difference exceeds 1 °C, the control unit, by controlling valves 26 and 27, adjusts the position of valve 29, changing the amount of gas supplied to the main burner. Opening valve 26 while valve 27 is closed increases the pressure in the supra-membrane cavity, while the passage of gas decreases.

Opening valve 27 while valve 26 is closed reduces the pressure in the above-membrane cavity, gas passage increases, and burner power increases. The water flow regulator 15 will slightly change the water flow through the apparatus and the displacement of the membrane 18. If there is no water flow or a decrease of less than 2.5 l/min, the microswitch contacts 21 open, valves 23 and 29 close, and the main burner goes out.

The hot water temperature is shown on the digital display. By pressing the buttons located below the display, you can decrease or increase the set temperature in the range from 35 °C to 70 °C. The electronic control unit remembers the set value. After replacing the battery and upon initial startup, the device will default to a heating temperature of 45 °C.

Switching on Neva Lux 5514

  1. Open the cold liquid and gas shut-off valve.

  2. Open the nearest hot water mixer; at the moment of opening, the pilot burner in the column will light from the candle, and from the pilot the main burner will light. Ignition will occur provided that the flow in the system exceeds 2.5 liters per minute. After the main one lights up, the pilot should go out.
To avoid getting burned when switching on, do not get closer than 15 cm to the viewing window. If the device has been idle for a long time or you are starting it for the first time, there is a high probability that air has accumulated in the gas pipe and you will not be able to turn on the column on the first try.

To remove air from the communications, it is necessary to open and close the hot water tap several times until the air is completely released from the pipes and the pilot burner is ignited.

Changing the water pressure at which the device turns on and off occurs using the tap handle, which is located under the casing. By turning it clockwise, you reduce the flow rate, and counterclockwise, you increase it accordingly.

The Neva lux 5514 geyser is one of the best representatives of the Neva series. Like models of another class, 5514 has a number of declared advantages. When choosing it, the buyer can primarily rely on an extensive database of written reviews. Moreover, the abundance of positive ones alone is impressive. The model operates only on the supply of natural gas as an energy source, and if you believe the responses, then a better model for our conditions cannot be found. What if you don’t believe it? Better figure it out.

Table of contents:

  1. Technical characteristics of the geyser Neva lux 5514
  2. Advantages of Neva lux 5514
  3. Disadvantages of the geyser Neva lux 5514

Technical characteristics of the geyser Neva lux 5514

  • flow-type water heating column,
  • installation is assumed to be wall-mounted only, with a vertical column arrangement,
  • the rated power of the installed heat exchanger is 28 kW,
  • maximum supply water temperature - 90°C,
  • Column productivity is 14 liters per minute,
  • the chimney diameter must be at least 140 mm to ensure sufficient draft,
  • heater weight - 12.5 kg,
  • built-in protection against overheating and overpressure,
  • control over the level of gas supply,
  • temperature level controller,
  • the built-in protection system will ensure automatic shutdown of the Neva lux 5514 water heater from the network in the absence of a sufficient draft level in the chimney,
  • The nominal gas flow rate is 3 cubic meters per hour.

Advantages of Neva lux 5514

  • The model features an extremely simple control unit. The lack of a display, the presence of only one knob for adjusting the set temperature is both a plus and a minus. Some foreign manufacturers offer more equipped models for the same price, while the Neva lux 5514 is more suitable for the “grandmother’s version”. That is, it will not be difficult for older people to understand its structure and management. Nowadays, however, we want more buttons and functions.

  • Like other geysers from the manufacturer Neva, the Neva lux 5514 model stands out for its rapid heating of water to a comfortable temperature. The presence of safety systems is designed to prevent the possibility of equipment failures.
  • There is a quiet noise level when the gas water heater is operating, as well as the absence of strange clicks that are periodically observed in other columns from the manufacturer Neva.
  • The speaker is compact in size and can be conveniently placed on the wall in the bathroom or kitchen.
  • Another plus in choosing Neva lux 5514 is its initial adaptation to our conditions. The heating column is capable of operating at low pressure in the water supply system and poor water pressure. The presence of control systems will not allow the equipment to fail when pressure increases or overheats.

Disadvantages of the geyser Neva lux 5514

I had to literally look for negative feedback. Nevertheless, there were such people.

  • Any electronics, especially if they are made in China, are not particularly durable. In particular, this applies to protective systems.

  • The wait for a technician in the event of a heating column failure can take up to 45 days, which speaks negatively about the service. Moreover, in negative reviews there are complaints about incompetent installers and repairmen sent. Typically, the manufacturer does not have its own service centers for repairs. Usually this indicates either the highest reliability of the product, or indeed an inappropriate attitude towards consumers. Any technique tends to break, so the conclusion itself suggests itself to the second point.
  • The cost of the Neva lux 5514 model is at the level of famous brands from Italian and German manufacturers - so before purchasing it is better to ask yourself again about the reasons for your choice.
