A little nomenclature...
What is Brown's gas Brown's gas, which is often referred to as HHO or detonating gas (Browns Gas, HHO gas, fire damp, detonating gas, oxyhydrogen gas) is 2 parts hydrogen gas and one part oxygen in a certain volume .
The same elements, and in the same proportions, are present in Brown's gas and in water vapor, and also hydrogen and oxygen - industrially produced gases - all this diversity brings some confusion into the understanding of what Brown's gas is. Let's try to figure this out. Conventional oxygen and hydrogen, sold commercially or produced by conventional electrolysers, are supplied in the form of O2 and H2. That is, the molecules of both gases have two atoms. This is a more stable state of these gases than when the individual atoms are separated (charged ions) and each atom exists separately.
The problem with H2 and O2 as flammable gases is that before they can react to become H2O, they must be broken down into H and O atoms. The energy required to do this is most of what you get. when they interact to produce H2O.
What makes Brown's gas unique, and most valuable, is that it does not exist in the molecular form of H2 and O2 molecules. Here they are in a monatomic state (one atom per molecule). In this state, when the hydrogen burns (reacts with oxygen), 3.8 times more energy will be returned.
However, it is most important to note the results obtained when using Brown's gas in an internal combustion engine. Monatomic hydrogen is a super catalyst for various types of hydrocarbon-based fuels. Improved power, mileage and cleaner combustion (reduced emissions) have been reported by people who have injected Brown gas into the intake manifold.
It is known that fuel processing in internal combustion engines is inefficient. In the best case, only 40% of the fuel is burned - expensive and environmentally harmful gasoline or diesel. The remaining 60% successfully burns out in the exhaust pipe.
Detailed research on the topic was carried out by Yul Brown, who built a demonstration car and received a US patent for his development with confirmation of the experiment. This device consists of an electrolyzer, a circular tank, an optimizer, and a control system. The gas release method is based on the phenomenon of water electrolysis. The installed circular tank is intended to separate gas from water; it is also needed to supply the gas generator with electrolyte.
Similar experiments were carried out in Russia. Thus, Professor G.V. Dudko tested an internal combustion engine, which looked like a hybrid of a carburetor engine and a diesel engine. To start, you needed a glass of gasoline, after which the ignition was turned off, and ordinary water with special additives was supplied to the combustion chambers. It was preheated and strongly compressed. The engine was installed on the boat, and the testers sailed on it in the Sea of Azov for 2 days, pouring water from overboard instead of gasoline.
In a Brown gas generator, the chemical reaction of electrolysis occurs directly in the electrolyzer, after which Brown gas - hydrogen and oxygen - is released. A special electrolyte is used, which consists of a catalyst and distilled water. The resulting gas leaves the upper fitting of the electrolyzer through a tube and is directed into a separate container - a water seal. It enters from below, is cleared of foam, rises as a gas above the water level, passes through a moisture filter, then through a check valve into the air manifold and from there into the combustion chamber.
Properties of water as fuel
The formula of water is known to almost everyone - H2O. It contains two hydrogen atoms (H2) and one oxygen (O2). They are connected to each other by a covalent bond. Here it is worth recalling the essence of any fuel. These are substances capable of oxidation under the influence of an oxidizing agent, which is oxygen.
The function of an oxide in water can be performed by an oxygen molecule (O2). Hydrogen (H2) becomes a kind of fuel. When it burns, it releases 3 times more energy than when using conventional natural gas, and 2 times more than when burning gasoline. It was these properties that formed the basis of the idea of using water instead of fuel.
The feasibility of obtaining Brown's gas
Brown gas generators, whose operating principle is described above, have found their practical application in 2 areas:
- production of hydrogen fuel for cars;
- gas-flame work (welding and soldering of metals).
A car cannot drive with an electrolyzer on board, since it requires an external source of electricity. The standard battery does not last long, because it is necessary to expend more energy to produce Brown gas than the fuel itself releases when burned. Therefore, companies that are seriously developing the topic of hydrogen fuel for cars have introduced a scheme for refueling cars with fuel obtained from a separate generator.
The situation is better with welding and soldering of metals; hydrogen torches are used in many industries in Western Europe. Since the combustion temperature of Brown's gas (2235 °C) is lower than that of acetylene (2620 °C), and the combustion product is water vapor, many environmental safety measures have become unnecessary. The industrial gas generators used for this are very expensive, since to increase efficiency they use catalysts made from rare elements, including platinum.
Managers of one British manufacturing company calculated that the total cost of separating and using Brown's gas was equal to the cost of purchasing and delivering acetylene. Only burning hydrogen is safer and more environmentally friendly. Another thing is that its production consumes electricity produced by burning the same hydrocarbons.
At the moment, heating with Brown gas is extremely inefficient, because more energy is expended on the production of fuel than is obtained during its combustion. Existing electrolyzers are not yet able to provide high fuel yield at low cost. To see this, you should watch the video:
In the second minute of the footage, the readings of the generator instruments with the hydrogen burner running are clearly visible. Voltage is 250 V, current is 14 A, respectively, the power consumption of the device is 250 x 14 = 3500 W or 3.5 kW. Now the question is: can such a torch heat water to heat a room of at least 30 m2? It is even visually noticeable that it is not. A simple electric boiler with a power of 3.5 kW will easily heat a room of up to 40 m2.
Conclusion: Brown's combustible gas cannot be compared to conventional electric heaters for heating at home. Too much energy is spent on its release from water, which means it is impractical to use it for heating. Producing hydrogen yourself can be done as a hobby or as an experiment.
Is there an everlasting log?
In reality, this is not a log, but an ordinary metal tank (pipe), welded on both sides. On top along the entire length there are holes in it for steam to escape. The pipe itself also has a hole that can be closed using a valve after the entire volume is filled with water.
You can use cold, but hot will heat up faster. How the device works:
- The tank is placed at the very bottom of the stove. On the left, right and top they cover it with ordinary logs. The stove is lit.
- When heated to a high temperature, water vapor begins to escape from the pipe.
- It enters the burning coals, mixing with air. The specific heat capacity of such a mixture is 2 times greater than that of ordinary air. Water vapor has a heat capacity of 2.14 kJ/kg·K, and air - 1 kJ/kg·K.
The results of such an experiment, according to the statements of those who conducted it:
- Black soot comes out of the smoke. This is explained by the reaction of carbon particles with oxygen.
- The flame becomes more intense, with long tongues.
- Wood burns longer: 1 hour 40 minutes. compared to 1 hour 10 minutes. when burning without an eternal log. Time increases by 40%.
How to fill a heating system with water
To understand how to fill a heating system operating on the bottom-fill principle with water, you should remember the following algorithm of actions:
- even before filling the heating system in a private house, the valve on the supply pipeline must be pushed in, and the discharge must be opened on the supply section;
- Then on the return pipe you need to slowly open the valve. If the outlet speed of the water in the heating system is high, there is a risk of water hammer, which can lead to the most unpleasant consequences, including the separation of heating batteries;
- Next you need to wait until the water, devoid of air, flows;
- then the discharge is closed, and the supply valve, on the contrary, opens;
- after this, you need to completely de-air all heating areas in the entrance to which you have access, including service premises.
It is important to remember that the circulation of water in a heating system with top filling is different, so filling such a pipeline with coolant is much easier. To do this, it will be enough to slowly open the valves on the supply and return (the vents are closed), and then remove the air from the vent in the expansion tank, which is located in the attic of a multi-story building.
Why is it still not drowned with water?
Intermolecular water bonds arise and break much more easily than intramolecular ones. Therefore, it was decided to use them in heat transfer processes. Chemists have experimentally found that the energy of intermolecular bonds of water ranges from 0.26 to 0.5 eV (electron volts).
The problem is that to obtain fuel from water, it must be broken down into its components. In simple words, it needs to be decomposed into oxygen and hydrogen, then burn the hydrogen and get water again. Cleavage is achieved by passing an electric current through the liquid.
When boiling, water does not break into individual molecules, but only evaporates. Heating from normal combustion does not cause any other reactions in the liquid. Moreover, this process also requires a lot of energy, which could be used usefully. Eg:
- burning 1 kg of dry wood with a moisture content of no more than 20% gives about 3.9 kW;
- if the wood moisture level rises to 50%, then only 2.2 kW is released from 1 kg.
The decomposition of water to produce actual combustion requires significant energy expenditure. Much more of it is needed than will be released when the recovered elements are used again as fuel. An approximate ratio can be given:
- 100% of energy is for splitting;
- 75% of energy comes from burning recovered components.
It is the fact that the reverse reaction of released hydrogen and oxygen releases less energy that is the reason why water is still not used as a fuel for cars and other things. Economically, this method turned out to be unprofitable. It is more feasible to make fuel from garbage. It can be liquid, gaseous and solid.
Is there a "water" car?
In 2008, in Japan, a “water” car was presented by Genepax at an exhibition in Osaka. The fuel could be a glass of tap or river water, or even regular soda.

According to confidential data from the FAO committee at the UN, 90 percent of all greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere are gases produced by the combustion of bacteria. When chemicals enter the ground, living bacteria try to rearrange the man-made chemical elements. At the same time, living bacteria die in an unequal struggle, and when they die, carbon dioxide is released. And it is these gases that leave up to 90 percent of the atmosphere. This is scary!
Not only are we destroying the living essence of the earth and making the soil dead, we are also creating global instability of the planet, changing its energy balance and increasing the temperature. The cataclysms of recent years throughout the Earth are just flowers. Therefore, either by God’s providence the time during which people stop throwing poison into the ground is prolonged, or man will simply cease to exist as a species.
But life won't stop there. How it was established after the Flood, which is a historical fact. But this will be a different life, there will be a different Sky, a different Earth, with different physical characteristics, with different electric and magnetic fields, the characteristics of the Earth’s rotation will change. Everything will change. And everything is heading exactly towards this, if, by the great mercy from above, we still manage to stop the so-called progress.
– It turns out that the technocratic path of development that humanity has followed turned out to be erroneous and in a short period of time confronted people with the fact of self-destruction? Realizing this, any normal person will simply scream: what to do? What power will help us to be saved?
– Remember the saying: “Knowledge is power”? This will help. But there are no forces in the usual sense - financial and administrative. But there are technologies that can literally restore the fertility of the land within a year. There is absolute fuel, for the production of which you don’t need to dig into the ground to take what you didn’t put there and when burning coal, for example, for 1 kilogram of coal you take 18 kilograms of oxygen from the atmosphere, and throw it all out together, and then breathe it.
Then all this falls into the water and into the ground, and it must be eaten. I'm not even talking about direct waste, about the washouts of the chemicals that we pour onto the fields. In England, for example, they poured up to 200 kilograms per hectare, not counting pesticides. And where does all this end up? In the water, which somewhere falls partially on our heads in the form of acid rain, and the Scandinavians and Germans definitely get it.
So, we have solved this problem – the energy problem. Water burns under certain conditions. When a kilogram of water is burned, water, roughly speaking, is also formed, only in a different state - in vapor form, which, rising to the upper layers of the atmosphere, thanks to the Earth’s magnetic field and natural processes, returns to us in its pure form. By stopping the use of chemistry, we stop disturbing Mother Earth, we do not touch its subsoil. We leave alone the oil lenses, which are not yet clear what role they play in the body of the planet.
The Earth is not just a spinning ball, it is a more complex system. I cannot say that this is an intelligent system, but that it is a living system with forward and backward connections - this is a fact that even the most orthodox so-called scientists recognize.
– What do you do with water if it burns no worse than gasoline and can be poured into car tanks? Will humanity forget the taste of normal water if it is used en masse as fuel?
– This is ordinary water, which, purely mechanically, passes through certain forms in which vortices, whirlpools, and breakers are created, familiar to us all from streams and rivers. Only all these breakers are more intense. There is no artificial influence - electric, magnetic, shock. There is simply a natural flow of water, as in nature, where it flows into springs from a depth of several kilometers and is considered ideal and alive. Imagine the pressure she is under there. Each molecule passes through the pores of basalt, granite, and other rocks. We took this same process, looked at it from Mother Nature and emphasized it a little, strengthened it, nothing more.
As a result of this, the so-called water acquires completely unique properties. Firstly, its density is significantly higher than unity; it can reach up to 1.25. We manage the processes in the installation.
The addition of, say, 99 percent water and 1 percent any hydrocarbons in homeopathic doses - it could be alcohol, it could even be, excuse me, feces - creates conditions under which the bonds between water molecules are weakened. It is enough to add high temperature, synthesis begins, the reverse process of combining oxygen with hydrogen, releasing heat and water vapor. Everything is very simple.
Taking 1 kilogram of water, we create conditions under which the oxygen contained in water (1 molecule) combines with two hydrogen molecules, producing the same water, but only in a different state - vapor. And at the same time, as a side effect, heat appears, which a person uses for heating or for mechanical rotation through a turbine.
But the output is the same 1 kilogram, it has not gone away. And thanks to the gradient of the magnetic and electric fields, it was restored and returned to us in the same form in which we took it. That is, this is an open system - they took a kilogram of water, communicated it with the upper layers of the atmosphere and again received the same kilogram.
This is a waste-free technology that is gentle and fits into nature, and does not deny it, as is done on the path of scientific and technological progress, completely discarding nature. We conquered it with an ax, with moldboard plowing - we turned over the humus layer, the bacteria died in the sun and released a dose of CO into the atmosphere, and the bacteria that were accustomed to the heat also died when turned over and also released CO. The next year they just had time to adapt, we turn it around again. And this happens on a scale comparable to the area of the continents, which led to the collapse.
– How long will it take to transfer the main production facilities to the new fuel?

And then there will be no need to build oil and gas pipelines. Especially if you make autonomous power plants, say, based on aircraft engines, where gas turbines are used. Only they will run on a different fuel, but the physics is the same. Water, burning at a high temperature, produces water vapor, which rotates the blades of the turbine, on the shaft of which the generator sits. And this autonomous installation can be made for a hundred, a thousand or a million kilowatts. Depending on the need. It's all a matter of technology.
– Why is the interval estimated at 3-5 years?
- This is a very short period of time. Cities with a population of over a million will take more time. But the problem must begin to be solved, given the immensity of the vastness of our Mother Russia, from small towns and villages.
– Even a schoolchild now understands that your developments can become gravediggers of scientific and technological progress. Obviously, their implementation is unprofitable for managers of underground subsoil. But it is obvious that tomorrow these technologies will still come and ephemeral millions will turn into dust. Nobody cares about the truth. Adding water to regular fuel
Water can be used as fuel for your car as part of regular diesel fuel. This is another assumption that was put forward by “home” inventors. It turned out that when you add a small amount of diesel fuel to a bottle of water, the resulting mixture burns. Moreover, less soot is released, and the combustion process becomes more violent.
Also, during the burning process of a piece of paper dipped into the resulting mixture, a cracking sound appears, but this only indicates the evaporation of the liquid. In addition, shaking does not dissolve the diesel fuel in the water. There will be no homogeneous mixture here. Over time, diesel fuel, like oil or gasoline, collects on the surface.
A similar experiment was carried out with a tractor, into which diesel fuel and water, mixed in certain proportions, were poured. The unit started up and began to rattle, standing still. But that’s all the energy of such fuel is enough for. And there is a high risk that the engine will fail.
How to get hydrogen at home?
On the Internet you can easily find drawings and diagrams of a wide variety of homemade installations that allow you to extract Brown's gas from water. If you filter out the information garbage related to this topic, it turns out that you can get hydrogen at home in two ways. The first is to purchase a ready-made electrolyzer; these are already commercially available. One problem is that their price is too high, and the efficiency is unknown.
When buying a hydrogen generator, you need to understand that it will not be a panacea for you in terms of heating. The price of equipment and consumed electricity will be higher than simple electric heating of water, so there is no talk of payback.
As an experiment, you can make a Brown gas generator with your own hands, which allows you to release a small amount of fuel. It is unlikely to be used to heat a building, but it may well be enough to power a small burner for melting metal. First, you need to make an electrolyzer, which is a container of water in which the electrodes are immersed. The larger the surface area of the electrodes, the higher the productivity of the installation. Steel plates of arbitrary size attached to a dielectric base are suitable. The electrodes are lowered into a hermetically sealed container of water, where ordinary salt is added to improve the reaction. A gas tube comes out through the lid and goes into the second vessel, which is a water seal; it is filled 2/3 with water.

Attention! If you have managed to achieve any significant installation performance, the burner should be connected to the tube through a check valve to avoid backlash and explosion.
Development prospects
Today, no real developments have yet been created that would allow the use of water as an alternative fuel. It has only been confirmed that adding it or hydrogen to the combustible mixture helps to increase engine efficiency.
So, if the admixture makes up 25-35% of the volume of diesel fuel, emissions of nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere are reduced, and fuel-economic indicators increase. This fact was confirmed back in the 80s of the last century. But real tests also showed that the precipitation of salts during combustion leads to increased engine wear. As a result, the economic effect is reduced to nothing.
If we evaluate the prospects for the use of alternative energy sources and fuels, it should be noted that this takes time. In the case of water, we can only hope that in the process of their experiments the inventors will still be able to reach the point where the car can be refueled from the tap.
The principle of starting an open type heating system, water preparation
There are no difficulties in such work, since no calculation of water in a heating system of this type needs to be performed. All that is required is to pour several buckets of water into the expansion tank so that it is visible at the bottom. It is absolutely not worth trying to fill a closed-type heating system with some reserve, otherwise, due to the heating of the coolant during the operation of the heating system, its volume will increase and water will flow over the edge of the expansion tank.
